Instant film photograph. Fuji instax film photographs are the modern Polaroid. Muted colors and soft focus lend to the charm. I love the intimacy of the small format and the lush low fidelity of the image.
I do not know which to prefer,
The beauty of inflections
Or the beauty of innuendoes,
The blackbird whistling
Or just after.

I am large. I contain multitudes. - Walt Whitman
They said, "You have a blue guitar,
You do not play things as they are."
The man replied, "Things as they are
Are changed upon the blue guitar."

Sell your cleverness and buy bewilderment. -- Rumi
Another foggy landscape from December 2015. Another lush morning in the South. Sony mirrorless capture and iPad edit.
Heavy fog. Heavy thoughts.
We have had the loveliest foggy mornings around here (Raleigh, North Carolina) lately. My husband and I have been lucky and were able to catch a bit of the foggy bliss before work yesterday and today. This photo is from a field just down from our house. What a wonderful start to the day.
So thrilled that my piece "we are like flies stuck in honey" was juried in to the Visual Art Exchange's Image Exhibition. Juried by Edna Cardinale, Director of the photography-focused Julie Saul Gallery.
we are like flies stuck in honey is 9 fuji instax photographs, and not shown in the photo above, taped directly to the wall with torn masking tape. For me it's about all the beautiful things in life that are fleeting and maybe they are more precious because of it.
Loveliness from the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC. This dreamy image was taken with a special lens to soften and blur the image.
Vast ocean views are so peaceful! This blue-green sea with the wispy clouds is one of my most popular images as a print 30x40" to 40x60" or a stunning gallery wrapped canvas to 30x40". Check my shop for large ocean art for your home or office.
Your daughters, perhaps, have been seized with the prevailing 'Pteridomania'...and wrangling over unpronounceable names of species (which seem different in each new Fern-book that they buy)...and yet you cannot deny that they find enjoyment in it, and are more active, more cheerful, more self-forgetful over it, than they would have been over novels and gossip, crochet and Berlin-wool.
Ferns! What lovely forms! The North Carolina Botanical Garden in Chapel Hill has quite the collection of ferns and it is one of my favorite locations to go with my camera. I love the soft but modern look of the fern in the canvas above... At home in both traditional and modern interiors.
Sweet dreams are made of this. Dreamy clouds to lull you to sleep. Original photography with digital painting rendered on high quality gallery-wrapped canvas for a lifetime of enjoyment. Large canvases available in my shop.
I love the elegant forms of these lilies. Lily prints are back in my shop! Compliments traditional, transitional, and modern decor.
